  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

Department of Publication and Translation at the International Institute of Islamic Thought welcomes your submission. Please submit your full manuscript through OMP by creating an account that will direct your proposal to the appropriate editor.  Please submit your proposal only once; we will be certain to forward projects to the appropriate editor.

For more information about submissions, please contact Rana Shehada at publications@iiit.org

Please send a book prospectus rather than a complete, full-length manuscript. This will allow us to assess quickly our interest in your work. Your prospectus must include the following:

  • Abstract 300-500 word description of the book project;
  • Full manuscript (maximum page length 300 pages);
  • Another version of your manuscript for peer review (make sure to remove your name and anything to reveal your identity from the manuscript and refer to yourself as the Author);
  • A table of contents;
  • Your curriculum vitae or resume;

The Review Process

We will review your manuscript internally for up to three months. Please do not query press staff via phone or email before that time. If we decide to pursue your manuscript further, we will either send it out for external review.

Our standard policy is to have manuscripts double peer-reviewed. The Press reach out to two/three scholars in the field to thoroughly review the manuscript. This process might take time to find the right qualified scholar who has the time to closely read the entire manuscript.  Depending on the length of the manuscript and scholar's schedule this process might take four to five months to review your manuscript.
